NOx-Absorption

The NOx in air, which for example unfolds in the nitric acid bleach column, may be absorbed either by ambient or by heigh pressure. The advantages of pressure absorption are:

  • Recycled nitric acid at a concentration of 50%
  • Cleaned exhaust gas in accordance with TA-Luft (Air) regulations.

Pressure Absorption Reaction Steps

Simultaneous gas and fluid reactions occur in the pressure absorption column in accordance with the following reaction steps. Heat removal in the column is a significant issue due to the exothermal reaction; QVF has therefore equipped them with specially designed cooled trays.

Facility Example
One of the largest NOx pressure absorption columns that QVF has built displays 34,000 kg weight, 32 meter high at a diameter of 1,700 mm, with partly cooled trays.

QVF delivers pressure absorption plants in accordance with valid standards, such as:

  • AD
  • ASME
  • US Stamp
  • China Stamp

Reference facilities are found in: Germany, Czech Republic, China, India, and Taiwan.
