By signing the contract, Schott DURAN and QVF Engineering GmbH agreed on the erection of a new 15 t borosilicate glass furnace to produce especially the raw material for QVF glass equipment and secure by this the high quality and reliability of the QVF product range. QVF is the only supplier of glass equipment of DN 800 and DN1000, and especially for this parts a short distance between raw material production and manufacturing of the final product is essential to check and improve the glass quality, the wall thickness and the glass surface early, just behind the furnace.
The new 15 t furnace can supply enough glass to feed the press, the centrifuge and the manipulation machine. Especially the centrifuge needs a big amount of hot glass in a very short time, as there is no heating after filling and for this the furnace throughput is designed.
Today the agreement, which was supported by Mininsterpräsident Beck, his minister of economy Mr. Bauckhage and his minister of finance Mr. Mittler, was introduced to the employees. They breathed a sigh of relief when they heard that with the signed contract between Schott Duran and QVF the raw material is secured on a long term basis.
Dr. Korbach asked the sales office to emphasise the unique portfolio of our big glass components on customers site and he strongly beliefs that with the new contract the premium product range of QVF will be strengthened.
