The glass meeting of the Deutsche Glastechnische Gesellschaft (DGG)took place on the 19th of October in Mainz. Host for the presentations was Schott and for a site tour QVF. After a short discussion about the special requirements for technical glass, especially regarding laws and regulations, the participants walked the short distance from Schott to QVF and visited after a short lunch the QVF production.

The visitors were lead in three groups, each with a QVF member who explained the different production steps. While the glass meeting was focused on glass for electronic applications, the visitors were impressed by the big amount of glass and the many fires that were handled at QVF.
